You can’t go past IRONMAN New Zealand as the elite event of New Zealand endurance sport. The course has been described as one of the most beautiful IRONMAN courses in the world, with a fantastic team of supporters.
New Zealand’s largest cycling occasion, and arguably one of the country’s largest sports participation events is again looking forward to welcoming around 6,000 riders and over 10,000 supporters to the Taupo region on Saturday 30 November.
The organisers have come to the unfortunate conclusion that the 2020 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Taupō, New Zealand simply cannot proceed. The organisers are also actively working to bring the event to Taupō, New Zealand in 2022.
Take the opportunity to swim alongside some of New Zealand's best open water swimmers, enjoy the idyllic setting of Lake Taupo and get yourself some excellent practice on the same course as the New Zealand Ironman.
Circus Aotearoa is a small New Zealand owned family run circus.
An awesome summer running and walking event on the wonderful Waikato River Trails with three categories 22, 11 and 6 km. This trail event lets all participants take in the amazing beauty of the area surrounding both Lakes Whakamaru and Maraetai.
Two fireworks displays to celebrate the New Year. The first one is a small display at 10:00pm for families with young children. The second display is a much larger midnight display.

The Taupo Rodeo is an annual event that is hosted on Broadlands Rd each year. Cowboys and cowgirls go head to head in bull riding, team roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, rope and tie and barrel racing.
